Assembled the vertical stabilizer hinge brackets (these are the hinge brackets that will tie the rudder to the vertical stabilizer.

Matched drilled the upper and lower spar caps to the vertical stabilizer rear spar.

Received and inventoried my tool order from Cleaveland tools.

Finished Inventory.

Laid out the parts for the Vertical Stab., rudder, and anti-servo tabs.

Mar. 22, 2012 (Picked up empennage kit)

Ann & I stopped at Van's on the way back to Warrenton from Salem and picked up my Empennage kit.

Unloaded into shop and started inventory.

I found a lifetime of paper in the box!

Mar. 20, 2012 (Ordered Empannage kit)

Well, so much for the "it wouldn't hurt to look" concept. I drove up to Van's today and ordered the Empennage kit & fastener kit for my RV-12. Mine will be build no. 120647...............which means I have the 647th kit for the RV-12.

Mar. 19, 2012 (Factory Tour & demo ride)

Ann & I stopped by Van's Aircraft in Aurora, OR for the 2 PM tour to see the factory and check out the RV-12 Experimental Light Sport Aircraft kit. After all, we agreed, "it won't hurt to look"...................words that have cost a lot of money over the years.

Joe Blank was our tour guide and after the tour and a look at their RV-12 (N412RV) offered to take me for a demo ride. Me, wanting to be polite, accepted. I came back with a serious case of what they call the "RV grin"!
